Spider Man on Toilet Character

Very cool example of something that you can make with non drying clay. I used a plastic toilet that I purchased at the Dollar Tree Store for $1.35. The similar toilets are on Amazon for a little more.

Plasticine Clay

I used plasticine clay to create separate legs (2) arms (2) and a torso. I had premade the head.

I used chopsticks to support the legs so that when I attached the torso, he would not fall into or backwards against the toilet. This Claymation Character Design idea allows you to animate as you build.

I also pre made the holes in his neck, and torso, so that when I put the head on it would not destroy the soft clay.

Animate While Building

I liked this form of creating stop motion because I showed the process but also animated during the construction.

It was easy to move his legs, toes, head, eyes and arms.

I switched out his eyes to add expression. I used a clay sculpting tool to drop his lower jaw, and also added more clay to his upper lip when he swallowed the spider.

Grow your skills

Give it a try, and good luck! I’m getting better at animating with smooth movements instead of the jerky style that I had started out with. This Claymation Character Design idea will let you take your time and get into it. You will see the results that you want, sooner than you know.
