Zombies Eating Lunch a Stop Motion Claymation

Animate with Minimal Set
Are you looking for interesting ideas for your first animation? You have come to the right place. This was an inexpensive set, and the animation was not too hard. I used one color of plasticine clay, chopsticks and a block of wood from the yard.
Show the Process
In this animation I chose to show the process while I was animating. I intentionally left my hands in the photos of the stopmotion animation, to add to character development. They watched me add hands, and the lunch, which was a Zombie Lunch of hands!
Construction of the Set
In this video you can watch how I construct two zombie friends in this claymation.
- I take a slice of a wooden log and insert two chopsticks, my basic “rigging”.
- I drilled the holes in the wood before I started. I then slide the clay torso or bodies on the chopsticks to anchor them.
- Then we can drop on the legs, with curling toes.
- The zombies come alive while they are being built!
- I add the heads, and they inspect each other suspiciously .
- By the time I add their arms and hands, they are growling, but things settle down when they get ready to eat the bloody hands for lunch!
